Nigeria’s biggest data services firm, MainOne plans to almost double storage capacity with it’s MDXi data center subsidiary over the next two years after demand for its services increased in West Africa, reports Bloomberg.

In an interview with Bloomberg’s Emele Onu, Country Manager, MainOne Ghana, Emmanuel Kwarteng discussed the company’s plans to expand its MDXi data center brand into Accra, Ghana with a 100-rack facility in Appolonia City, in line with its ongoing West African expansion plans, as well as the company’s plans to increase its data center capacity across the region.

“We see the data center market growing a lot in Ghana and Nigeria, with demand from financial institutions, manufacturers, oil and gas companies and enterprises,” he said.
