MainOne Commence Construction Work at MDXi Data Center in Appolonia City

Consistent with the announcement of its planned MDXi Ghana Data Center project in September 2019, West Africa’s premier connectivity and data center solution provider, MainOne, has commenced construction activities on the project with official site groundbreaking at the Appolonia City enclave on the 15th of May 2020.

The project, which was initially scheduled for completion in December 2020 will, now be ready for services at the end of quarter 1 in 2021 due to the delays caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the global supply chain and the delivery of key component of the facility.


Covid-19: Status Update

We have keenly followed the latest pronouncement by the Federal Government of Nigeria to ease the lockdown, effective from 4th May 2020. Whilst we await further directive from the Lagos State Government on the scope of the relaxed lockdown rules, MDXi intends to continue to maintain strict measures to protect our DC facilities and our staff from the risk of the COVID 19 and other diseases that could compromise the entire facility and put our operation and those of our customers at risk.

Therefore, until the current wave of the spread of the virus is contained or a more definitive cure or vaccine is found, MDXi shall maintain the following operational processes and procedures with respect to the operations of the Data Centre and ancillary facilities.

COVID-19: Mandatory Restriction of access to Data Centers

The Stack platform provided in partnership with Microsoft and HPE operated by Selectium will be unveiled at MainOne’s 5th annual gathering of customers, partners and tech professionals, called Nerds Unite.
